Knowledge is everything by Aleksandra Shekutkovska

Yesterday I spent the day at BACC Bangkok art and culture centre. In general this museum is quite unique because it seems like a huge public space. It is different than the classical museum. You can enter quite easily from the BTS, there are small design shops and coffee shops and somehow the programs : exhibition space, commercial space and informal ( artists having their stalls there ) are intertwined.

There is one installation I liked very much probably because of the minimalist approach and the refinement of expression. Called “Knowledge is everything” it is an installation by Jan Krogsgaard and Liam Morgan. There are two “planets” in which you see water slowly dripping and creating organic geometry. When I entered it looked as gentle as lithography, like a small flower trapped in one of the sides of the planet.

I spent perhaps one hour just enjoying the beautiful music and this symphony between the water and the “drawing” created, forgetting about the rest of the world behind the curtain. Perhaps the importance of knowledge lost in a world with pictures, can be in fact found in a place like this, where you close the curtain and you separate, drawn into the simplistic expression of the circle and the water.
